The members of the CRWE are a diverse group of talented musicians from the greater Boston Metropolitan area. The CRWE provides its members with the opportunity to play quality music in a rigorous, challenging, semi-professional music environment.

Are you interested in joining the Charles River Wind Ensemble? There are two ways to join - as a regular member or as a substitute player with the ensemble.

Regular Members

We currently have openings for the following instruments:

• Clarinet
• Contrabassoon / Contrabass Clarinet
• French horn
• Trombone
• String bass
• Piano
• Harp
• Percussion

Substitute Players

The Charles River Wind Ensemble maintains a roster of substitute players for all instruments. These players are invited to fill in when regular members are unavailable, and can fill in anywhere from one rehearsal to an entire concert cycle. Call players are also generally the first in line to join as regular members of the Charles River Wind Ensemble.

To schedule an audition for an open position or for the substitute list, please contact the personnel manager. Be sure to include a brief description of your playing experience.
